Take Notice, that the following is an ordnance duly adopted by the Town Board of the Town of Smithfield, County of Madison, New York, on the 29th day of December, 1947, and entered in its minutes to wit:
AN ORDNANCE REGULATION THE USE OF THE VILLAGE GREEN AT PETERBORO
It shall be unlawful for any person to run, drive, conduct, or park automobile trailer upon the Village Green or Common, any , cow, swine, goat, sheep, or other livestock owned by or under the control of such person. This Ordinance shall not be construed to interfere with the lawful use of driveways or roadways existing upon or adjacent to said Village Green; and use of said Village Green or Common may be allowed by written permit of the Town Board in the sound discretion of said Board for fairs, expositions, field days, or other public and proper uses. Any person violation this Ordinance shall be punishable by a fine or imprisonment or both as the case may require, but such fine shall not exceed Fifty Dollars nor shall such imprisonment exceed three months.
